Not One but Two Easter Camps
Mullingar Shamrocks  brave decision to organsie two Easter Camps this week proved to be an outstanding success with our Coaching Officer Gerard Buckley  responsible for the overall organisation. Liam Reilly was the man with the idea to organise an Advanced Camp and the Under-14 boys and girls responded in style for the opportunity for some advanced skills coaching and advice on preparation.
We would like to thank the Westmeathgaaofficial Coaching staff for their input and a special thanks to our GPO Luke Loughlin for his coaching input and for the coaches he recruited. On Tuesday, Jason Daly, Westmeath outstanding goalkeeper took the coaching lead for the field sessions, on Wednesday, Robbie Forde took the lead. Two of Westmeath’s most talented young football talents our own Shane Ormsby and Matthew Whittaker supported Robbie on Wednesday. On Tuesday, nutritionist and Roscommon LGF player, Caoimhe Lennon delivered a presentation on Sports Nutrition.  Despite Caoimhe’s words of wisdom, the Advanced Camp concluded today in the traditional manner – Pat Collins delivered the Easter Eggs as usual to the 28 boys and 20 girls who participated.

Our Easter Camp for younger boys and girls concluded at lunch time on Thursday after three great days of activity and fun.
The weather Gods smiled and the sprinkle of rain that fell as the camp ended did not prevent the distribution of the traditional end of camp Easter Eggs.
It has been a great few days for the club and the introduction of the Under-14 Advanced Camp was  a very progressive move.
Thanks to our 9 young coaches and a special thanks to Gerard Buckley, Luke O’Loughlin and Pat Collins for their managerial input.
