Congrats to Cólaiste Mhuire on their extraordinary extra-time and sudden-death penalty victory in the North Leinster Under-16 Football championship against the Marist College, Athlone. As a club, we commend the achievement and take particular pride in the contribution of the Mullingar Shamrocks players involved. Eleven in total on the panel! Ty Masterson was an inspiring captain and was joined by Paul Keating who performed heroics in goal especially in the penalty shoot-out. It’s great to see Paul back in the position he showed so much promise and class in the early days of his football career. Ronan Byrne, Ben Sheerin, Rory McCaul, Adam Buckley, Ted Aherne, James Ryan, Zak Coyne, Rory Kilmartin and James Murtagh completed the incredible total. Confirmation , if any is needed of the superb coaching that has continued over the past 5 or 6 years. And it’s worth noting that Mullingar Shamrocks have six representatives on the county minor panel this year – our highest representation in a long time.
