Annual General Meeting.

Our Annual General Meeting was held in the Clubhouse in Springfield on Saturday night with a large group of members in attendance. The past year was comprehensively analysed and Chairman Pearse Corroon, secretary Ritchie Daly, under-age secretary Pat Collins and Ladies’ committee representative Karen Hegarty provided members with detailed reports of the various club activities for 2016.

A number of significant changes took place at executive level as Pat Treanor, Ritchie Daly and David Gavin took leave of absence from their senior posts but Ritchie and David continue as ‘junior ministers’. One of the most significant changes was the election of Ned Moore to the post of vice-chairman; this appointment marks Ned’s debut in an administrative post after a distinguished Shamrocks career as a player, coach, manager and selector and with his enthusiasm, Ned is guaranteed to energise the incoming executive. Gerry Nohilly, Johnny Corroon, Paul Doolin and Ritchie O’Donoghue also return to the club at executive level and are joined by debutants Robbie Boyle, Joan Ormsby, Karen Hegarty, Kieran Ryan and the youthful Conor McKenna. The distinguished contribution of Mick Greene, Sean Muldarry and Dan O’Dowd to the club in the past was recognised by their inclusion to the list of Honorary Presidents.
