A Springfield Saturday Morning ...
The coffee shop was open and business was brisk (we are considering entering the poster for the Turner Prize); all means of transport were used to travel to the centre of excellence and fun that is a Springfield Saturday morning; Coaching and coaches in every corner; Na SeamrÓigí were in their usual AstroTurf place; we had St Pauls-Delvin, LOughnavalley, Shandonagh and Castletown-Finea/Coole/Whitehall as guests for an Under-8 and Under-10 LGF Blitz with the usual display of skills on offer. Kevin McCormack looked after the logisitics with Karen and Sophie doing the coaching and organising of the girl footballers. And maybe best of all Jodi Aherne, Alessia Hassett and Eve Byrne volunteered for the refereeing duties.
Some just took time out to enjoy the sun but they also serve who only serve and wait and some just availed of the opportunity for a little quiet play time.
That's Springfield on a Saturday morning. Where we all belong.
