Easter Camp defies the wind and rain

The weather didn’t make things any easier for the boys and girls and the organisers and it was necessary to cancel the Wednesday plans but by extending our final day we made sure all who attended received plenty of fun, games and football.

And there was the added novelty of the people from Bricks4Kidz dropping in on Thursday to provide a different type of challenge for the young footballers.

Well done to all who organized and to the coaches who helped out. The underage coaches once more excelled themselves on the camp, we’re very lucky in Mullingar Shamrocks to have such fantastic teenagers, without them there would be no camp. The teenage coaches were Leah Glynn, Zara Corroon, Aoife Murphy, Grace Hanly, Adam Glynn, Matt Ryan, John Ryan, John Shaw, Luke McCabe, Dylan Carey, Conor Fagan, Molly Maguire, Roisín Nohilly, Peter Finch and Gavin Pierce.

Micheál Burke, Eddie Byrne, Niall Colleary, Adrian Keaveney, Barry Kelly, Brendan O’Reilly and Garrett Doyle in association with our Games Promotion Officer Eanna Holland were the adult coaches who supervised and helped out. A word too to Pat Collins who as usual had the logistics of the camp under control and most important of all the goodies organised and the children were thrilled to receive an Easter Egg as they left.
