Busy Man

The playing exploits of Ross Corroon, one of our young promsing players, over the weekend are worthy of some recognition. Ross began in Athlone on Friday evening where he played a key role for Mullingar Shamrocks in the under-21 championship quarter-final where unfortunately Shamrocks were eliminated; next stop for Ross was the Leinster Junior Championship match between Oliver Plunketts and the Wexford St James Club. Here Ross was given the task of marking Wexford's inter-county star Matthew O'Hanlon and he played his part in a great Oliver Plunkett's victory. Shortly afterwards Ross made the short trip to Lakeland Park and again lined out for Mullingar Shamrocks in our final ACL Div. 1 match of the season. Some commitment (but you wouldn't expect anything else);Ross was still standing to deliver a rock gig at Kieran Gavin's going-away party a few hours later. The man has the energy of Bruce Springsteen.

Young players like Ross are very lucky that the GAA protects them from bun-out and prioritises Player Welfare!
