The men "that sat round the table 70 years ago" to quote Larry McCarthy can hardly have imagined that less than 50 years later we would be out in Bloomfield Hotel celebrating winning county senior title Number 10 and honouring the 25th anniversary of the 1966 win with Marty Morrissey as MC.

They can hardly have imagined that it would be possible to take a picture of 5 players with 39 senior county medals between them; that 3 of these players captained Mullingar Shamrocks to county senior titles; that the one with 7 senior medals (emigration cost him a medal in 1986) had captained Shamrocks to 3-in-a-row titles 1993-95); another had tormented defenders like no other and that another had represented the country with distinction in the Compromise Rules series against Australia.
