A Message from Frank Mescall

As you are probably aware at this stage, the Westmeath Senior Football team are participating in the Tailteann Trail, along the Old Rail Trail and the Royal Canal Greenway, on Sunday, 23rd October. This is the third and final component of their fundraising campaign which has been ongoing for the past number of weeks. The proceeds from these are going towards their end of year trip to Mexico.

The Tailteann Trail begins in Athlone at 8am and finishes in Kinnegad at 5.30pm (approx). All the members of the victorious Tailteann Cup campaign are participating in this relay event and the Tailteann Cup itself will complete the full journey. We would hope that your club will come out to welcome the players on their journey and maybe even contribute something to the cause. The players will be stopping at the following locations along the way. Please note that the times are approximations and may change as the day progresses!

· 1.30 pm Ballinea Playground, Shandonagh

· 2.30 pm Mullingar Harbour

· 3.15 pm Baltrasna Bridge, The Downs

· 4.15 pm Kneadsbridge, Coralstown

· 5.30 pm Coralstown/Kinnegad GAA

Your support is much appreciated for this novel venture.

Thanking you in advance,

Frank Mescall,

County Chairperson.
