Figure Dancers Defend their dancing title ... (Two Titles for Detty)

It was a two county title night for Mullingar Shamrocks in the County Scór Finals on Saturday night in The Downs for our Figure Dancing team defended their county title. Our Figure Dancers have been winning titles over the years and are congratulated for their dedication to the cause and a special word of praise for their coaches Patsy Rylands and Mary Cornally is appropriate.

Our winning dancers who retained The Rob Cornally Perpetual Trophy were Mary Jo Geraghty, Maura Buckley, Kim Darby, Sheila Marie Martin, Zoe Collins, Una Fagan as well as Rachel Cornally and Shannon Daly who are absent from the photograph.

And of course none of this would be possible without the input, perseverance and patience of the legendary Mrs Scór, our President Detty Cornally. Well certainly the Tráth na gCeist wouldn't have happened. Every year the telephone call arrived with the details on when the quiz was scheduled ... there was no question of saying no. This time Detty was rewarded and appropriately The Johnny Garvin Perpetual Trophy was taken back to Mullingar by Johnny's first cousin Davy Gavin. Tom Hunt, Davy Gavin, and the father and son combination of Richard and Conor McKenna lined out for Shamrocks and won the quiz tile for the first time this century.
