LGF Under-14, Division 5, semi-final: Mullingar Shamrocks 2-12 Tyrrellspass 1-5.

Mullingar Shamrocks Under-14 girls qualified for the Division 5 final with a convincing win against Tyrrellspass on Saturday at a warm and sunny Tyrrellspass. Tyrrellspass started the match quickly and were 1-1 to 0-0 up after ten minutes. The Mullingar Shamrocks girls then started to play and finished the half strongly to take half-time lead of 1-6 to 1-2.

Again, Tyrrellspass started the second half well and put the Mullingar Shamrocks backs under pressure. Emily Ford made some spectacular saves to keep Mullingar Shamrocks in the lead. The Mullingar Shamrocks girls then wrestled back control of the game and finished strongly. The team displayed great teamwork which resulted in several excellent scores. Aya Haccini and Alexa Gavigan dominated the mid-field area and Moya Kilmartin looked like she could score every time she got the ball.

Great credit is due to the Under-14 management team who have two teams in county finals through their hard work and dedication.
