Gaelic for Mothers and Others Compete in National Blitz

Sixteen ladies and Robbie Boyle from the Mullingar Shamrocks Gaelic for Mothers and Others (G4MO) team headed off to the National Blitz in Dublin on Saturday 3rd Sept. There were 132 teams spread out over 22 pitches on two sites. A Zumba mass warm up for everyone took place, leaving Robbie wondering if we’d brought him to Electric Picnic instead of a G4MO Blitz!

Over the course of the day we met 5 different teams – St. Patricks, Palmerstown (Dublin), St. John Bosco (Down), Clonard (Meath), Carrigtwohill (Cork) and Cappagh (Tyrone). There was some great football played by everyone. The spirits were high all the way through even though everyone was soaked to the bone. A special thanks has to go to St. Patricks Palmerstown for looking after Avrial when she was injured and the team had to play on.

Thank you to Midlands Jobs and Alo Gowrans Furniture and Carpets for the sponsorship to get us to the Blitz,

Thanks also to the Crossed Keys for the congratulations at the National Blitz.

Thanks to the Mullingar Shamrocks Club for all their support from the weekly coaches that have given their time to sorting out the entrance fee for the blitz.
G4MO train each Friday evening at 8.00 pm and new ladies are always welocme.

No experience is needed, just be up for a laugh and the chats
