Under-19 Football Championship: Mullingar Shamrocks 4-14 Athlone 2-8.

A superb 4-14 to 2-8 win in Athlone on Friday evening under lights for our Under -19 team with Zach Aherne chipping in 1-4 and Mark Shaw contributing 2-1 to set the victory foundation. Seán Óg Hynes’s move to full-forward was also a success as in his new role Seán Óg notched 1-1. The move was a double success as Mikey McDonagh his replacement in goal was a man-on-the-match candidate with several crucial saves and excellent restarts. Mark Flynn was outstanding at centre back and Matthew Siode and Daniel Chukwuemeka performed in their usual solid manner in the full back line.
