Girls Under-14 Championship: Shamrocks 1-9 St Loman’s 1-4
Shamrocks Under-14 girls began their championship campaign at Lakepoint Park on Tuesday evening (3 May). Shamrocks dominated the opening half but wasted many great patterns of play with the finishing touch falling short or the wrong side of the post. Despite the missed opportunities Shamrocks held a 0-4 to 0-1 interval lead.
Shamrocks again dominated the second half and found their shooting boots in the dressing room and clocked up 1-4 in the first fifteen minutes and led by 1-8 to 0-2 after 50 minutes. Both sides made changes in the final ten minutes and full credit to the St Lomans girls who never gave up and added 1-3 to their total before the final whistle. Full time score: Shamrocks 1-9 St Loman’s 1-4. The outstanding performer in this game was Chloe Smullen who scored 1-4 in what was a top-class display.
