What I Miss Most about Shamrocks:
So as a Shamrocks mammy and now nanny, what I miss most is the arrival on a Saturday morning, after the underage training, of a gang of hungry grandkids (and their daddies and mammies!) checking the oven to see what Nanny has ready for them, the chat and banter and the telling of who did what, who got a goal etc etc. and seeing who is getting the last sausage or egg or whatever.
I miss too going round the county following the Senior team, with my friend Mary Purcell, watching our lads, again the chat and the banter, sometimes being frozen solid but the sunny summer evenings always made up for that. Hopefully we will get to that again soon.
And of course not forgetting the weekly Bingo on a Thursday night, again missing the craic, the chat and meeting up with the Shamrocks women and men (who give of their time every week), and catching up, sometimes even getting to call the numbers and getting the orders to “slow down what’s your hurry!” and maybe even winning a few pound too!
So all in all here’s hoping we get back to some of these things before the summer ends!
Best Wishes to all and Stay Safe, Stay Firm.
