You better shape up’: Mullingar Shamrocks to stage Grease
Mullingar Shamrocks who have in the recent past presented a variety of musical entertainment ranging from the classical Ultimate Classical Show with a Celtic Twist to the popular Stars in Your Eyes now embark on the most ambitious project yet when the club stages the hit musical Grease in the Arts Centre from 5-10 July 2016. The show will be directed by Jemma McNamee, Niamh O’Shea is the musical director, Chris Corroon is responsible for the choreography and Aaron Purcell is the stage manager.
Open auditions will be held at the Arts Centre on Thursday next 7 April at 7.00pm So don’t be shy, come on down and show your talent and you could find yourself singing, dancing and acting during those ‘summer nights’ of early July.
All auditionees will be required to perform a singing and dancing audition. Those who wish to sing in the chorus will audition in small groups. Anyone interested in a speaking role will also need to complete an acting audition. An audition pack is available on the Mullingar Shamrocks Facebook that contains dialogue and songs to prepare for the audition. A short dance routine will be taught on the evening and will be performed in small groups. All are welcome and no prior experience is necessary. If you need extra information please email grease2016ms@gmail.com with your query.
Jemma, Aaron, Niamh and Chris look forward to meeting all the potential Danny’s and Sandy’s on Thursday night.
So remember Grease is the Word … start spreading it!
