Healthy Club Launch ...

Superb morning in Springfield as Mullingar Shamrocks inclusion in the GAA's Healthy Club Project was officially launched. The Mullingar Town Band was on hand the mark the occasion with a music as Frank Mescall (Healthy Club Officer, Westmeath GAA) and Sarah McCormack (Lead Officer, Healthy Ireland) completed the formalities of the launch; Sean Hynes (Chairman, Mullingar Shamrocks) and Joan Ormsby (Healthy Club Officer, Mullingar Shamrocks) also addressed the audience. A MASSIVE thanks to JOAN for her contribution to organising the Healthy Village concept and in securing the club's status in the GAA's wonderful national scheme. The turnout was excellent, we thank the many health promoting agencies both voluntary and commercial who attended and provided information on their health and wellbeing services. And when all was said and done Deirdre from Whelehan's Pharmacies was still busy checking blood pressure and blood sugar levels etc. What a morning!
