It's a small world ...

or so it is said and sometimes it is even smaller than we think. Back in 2005 Phil Curry attended the wedding of Mullingar Shamrocks player Conor Wallace and was seated at a table of Shamrocks stalwarts that included Barry Maguire, Dermot Ryan and Eddie Casey.. Sitting on one side of Phil was his wife Catherine and on the other side was Darina Maguire. Both were pregnant and later gave birth to boys who were called Paddy and Donnacha. Phil Curry was in Springfield last Sunday as an official with the Ballyboden St Enda's team that played in the Sean Dempsey Memorial Tournament. And would you believe it on Sunday last thirteen years later Paddy Curry and Donnacha Maguire were in direct opposition and marked each other as Mullingar Shamrocks played Ballyboden in the first game for both clubs. A candidate for entry to Ripley's Believe it or Not?
