News Item Number 900: Under-9 LGF in St Loman's

One of the services the ClubifyApp does is it keeps a count of the number of news items that are published and this posting brings our total to 900 (and if anybody is remotely interested the first new item published was the Club Notes on 17 January 2016). What better way to mark the occasion than to report on the exploits of our youngest LGF players.

Fourteen  of our Under-9 girls made the short trip to our neighbours St Loman's for a blitz on Saturday. We opened against a very strong Multyfarnham team. Despite some great passing and some excellent counter attacks it was not enough and Multy were victorious.

We regrouped and faced Edenderry in the second match. This proved a much more even encounter compared to our first match. The Shamrocks girls played some lovely football, with great soloing, and well taken scores. When the hooter sounded the girls in green were just ahead.

After a rest, we took on Carrick on Shannon in our final match. We saved our best performance for last, with Shamrocks coming out on top by 6 points to 2.

A great afternoon of football and a special shout out to the Under-8 girls who joined the younger Under-10s for their first all-girls blitz. All stars of the future without a doubt! And thank you to everyone who came out to Lakepoint Park to cheer the girls on and to Debbie and Daniell who were in charge of team management.
