Under-12 LGF Championship: Mullingar Shamrocks 1-3 Milltown 1-6

Shamrocks Under-12 Girls took to the field on Saturday afternoon in their penultimate championship group match against Milltown. The girls opened strongly and our midfield and forwards dominated the first half. They showed some lovely touches and at half time they held a comfortable 1-3 to 0-2 lead.
However it was truly a game of two halves. Milltown stormed back in the second half and despite coping well with prolonged pressure, the girls were not able to hold on, with Milltown taking the lead in the final five minutes of the game and emerged victorious (1-6 to 1-3). Although the final score was not in our favour Mullingar Shamrocks played some of their best football of the season, especially in the first half.

The Subway Player of the Match was Brona Moran who joins Jasmine McFarlane Ginnell who was Player of the Match against Athlone and Nicole Isis who was honoured for her dispaly against St Mary's Rochfortbridge.

Many thanks to Gema Pintor and Subway (Castle Street) for their sponsorship.
