Radisson Blu Minor Football Championship: Mullingar Shamrocks 5-18 Kilbeggan-St joseph's 2-5

With Dillon Matthews and Jack Kelly dominating midfield and Pádraic McKenna leading the attack in fine style, the result of this minor football championship played in Springfield was never really in doubt from the moment that John O'Reilly brilliantly finished McKenna's pass to score Shamrocks opening goal.  Pádraic McKenna had two more goals, as well as two points, before the interval to help establish a 3-11 to 1-2 lead for the wind-assisted home side. Marc Eivers broke from defence to score two points; Jack Gillen also scored two - one from short range and another from way-out;  Matthew Maslin's left boot swung over three points and Dillon Matthews and  Cormac Hynes also pointed.

Pádraic McKenna completed his hat-trick of goals in the second half and Jack Gillen also finished to the net to secure this vital championship win. From now on, it's one step at a time.
