Proud Day for Marie and Anna
Last Sunday was a proud day for Marie McKeogh, a member of our Under-12 Ladies Gaelic Football team. Marie was chosen to represent Westmeath in the half-time match at the Leinster final between Dublin and Westmeath. Marie scored 1-1 to make the day even more memorable for her family and herself. Hopefully, this was the first of many appearances for Marie in the Westmeath colours.
It was a memorable day also for Anna Jones who made her Leinster senior final debut as a first-half substitute for Westmeath. Unfortunately, despite a good performance Westmeath were beaten by All-Ireland champions Dublin but will now play Galway and Waterford in the All-Ireland round robin series.
There is a rumour in Springfield that the Ladies Gaelic Football season will recommence soon after its mid-summer hiatus. Watch this space!
