Under-12 LGF league Mullingar Shamrocks 2-2 Ballycomoyle 3-4

 Shamrocks Under-12 LGF team played the final league match of the campaign  on Thursday.  Ballycomoyle were the opposition on another balmy evening in Springfield. Shamrocks opened strongly  and were a goal to the good in the first three minutes.  They followed up with two well taken points and were well on top at half time.  However, after an extended half time break, Ballycomoyle came out a renewed force in the second half.  Aided by the breeze, three goals in the opening ten minutes of the second half tilted the game in their favour.  Shamrocks regrouped  and Sophie Russell scored a great goal to start the comeback.  However, despite fierce pressure from all the Shamrocks forwards and attacking midfielders, the visitors defence was not to be breached and Ballycomoyle held on for a win 3-4 to 2-2.  A great team performance by all 15 Shamrocks players in very warm conditions. The championship awaits!

 And there was no joy for our ACL Div. 5 team who were well beaten by a much stronger Tubberlcair team.
