Mullingar Shamrocks Ladies reach Division 4 Final
In a first for the club, the Senior Ladies Panel are now in the finals of both the Division 1 and Division 4 League.
The Senior Ladies achieved back to back victories over Loughnavalley and Caulry today to top their group in Division 4. Shamrock’s fielded a mix of young and experienced players to take on Caulry last Sunday in Springfield. Caulry, assisted by a strong wind went into an early lead but the Shamrock’s girls work rate slowly brought control of the game. Powered by driving runs from the backs and good recycling by the forwards, Shamrock’s led by 4 points at halftime, 2:6 to 2:2. This impressive work rate continued in the second half and now with the wind at their backs the Mullingar girls consolidated their lead with a series of fine points to win on a final score line of 2:13 to 2:4.
