Minor Football League: Mullingar Shamrocks 2-7 Millmore Gaels 1-11

Mullingar Shamrocks completed their minor football league campaign with a single point loss to Millmore Gaels in Milltown. Shamrocks held a two-point interval lead after a strong first half. Matthew Maslin opened the Shamrocks scoring account with two fine points from play but was tightly marked for the remainder of the game. Dillon Matthews and Jack Gillen scored a goal each but some poor finishing during this period proved crucial when the final whistle sounded. Millmore Gaels dominated the second half but also shot a significant number of wides. Cormac Hynes, Dillon Matthews, Jack Gillen and Marc Eivers had second half points and when Matthew Maslin pointed a free to put Shamrocks ahead (2-7 to 1-9) victory was a possibility but two late frees for Millmore Gaels secured the league points for the home combination.
