ACL Div. 1: Mullingar Shamrocks 1-15 Milltownpass 1-8

With Daragh Daly and Patrick Fagan dominant at midfield and Ciarán Curley, Darren Keena, in particular, and Tye Adamson dominating the scoring Mullingar Shamrocks began their 2018 season with a comfortable victory over Milltownpass. The crucial score came midway through the second half when a Tye Adamson pass sent Darren Keena through and the latter finished to the Milltownpass net. A missed Milltownpass penalty helped the Shamrocks cause but overall Shamrocks were deserving winners in a match that saw Marc Eivers make his senior debut for the club.

In The Downs our Under-16s lost out to the hosts (3-13 to 2-5) after trailing by the minimum at the interval.
