Detty Cornally held the role of Mullingar Shamrocks Club President since 1992. Detty was the first female to hold the position. She transformed the role from largely honorary to a more visible and active position. She led  by example with hard work and dedication (and lots of ticket selling!). Following the passing of our beloved Detty a new Club President has been elected. 

A big congratulations to our new Club President…… A man who needs no introduction; Tom Hunt. 

A Waterford native who joined Mullingar Shamrocks in 1984, winning Senior County titles with the club as a player in 1986 and 1987 and Tráth na gCeist County Scór title in 2022, 2023 and 2024. He has also carried out various roles in the club including Club Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and PRO. 

Tom, no doubt, will carry out his new role as Club President with great pride and committment. We are very lucky to have a man like Tom in our club. He is passionate about the GAA, and promotes both the ladies and mens side of the game with great enthusiasm. Tom has so much knowledge and experience to share.
