Well done to Conor McKenna and his co-commentator Seán Óg Hynes who made their broadcasting debut with Midlands Radio 3 on Sunday when they provided the commentary for the Westmeath-Derry National Football League match and kept listeners informed of the action from Celtic Park. A great win for Westmeath but not so good for the two Mullingar Shamrocks players involved. Denis Corroon was forced out before the match began with suspected appendicitis and had to return to Mullingar while Killian Daly was forced to retire with an ankle injury before the interval.
