New Year’s Resolution
Keeping in mind Arsene Wenger’s wise words that ‘it is difficult sometimes when you are paid to talk and only say things that are true and intelligent’, it is hard to beat Colm O’Rourke’s advice in his column in the Sunday Independent on New Year’s Eve as to what constitutes an appropriate New Year’s message for GAA folk; in the opinion of one of the GAA’s voices of reason ‘the message should be to everyone out there who has been half-arsed about their commitment to their club to give it a right go in 2018. Not just for a few months and then disappear and complain about everyone else. Be the driver, the leader, the fittest, the best you can be. Some day it will all fall into place and then all the sweat and toil, disputes (a nice word for a good row), disappointment and everything else will all look worthwhile’.
NOW, OF COURSE NONE OF THIS HAS ANY RELEVANCE TO MULLINAR SHAMROCKS HAS IT?
