Ballyboden St Enda’s Under-13 Tournament (Corn Rathfearnain Div.1-4)

Our Under-13 Boys travelled to Dublin on Monday to take part in the Ballyboden-St Enda’s Féile Tournament and returned home with some silverware. Our first outing was against St Mary's Leixlip (Kildare).  We were very slow out of the blocks and lost 1-6 to 0-3; in our second outing we played a very strong Ballinteer-St John’s (Dublin) team who had a couple of physically imposing players that we couldn't handle and even though we improved on our opening performance we lost 5-5 to 2-3. Our third game against hosts Ballyboden St Enda’s was our best game and ended in 3-4 to 3-4 draw even though we outplayed the home side for much of the match. Our group finished with Ballinteer-St John’s on 6 points, Ballyboden on 3 points, St Mary’s Leixlip on 2 points and Mullingar Shamrocks on 1 point. This qualified Mullingar Shamrocks for the Div. 4 final where we met Bailieborough of Cavan and with our lads in full stride we came out easy winners 5-10 to 0-1.

Ballinteer won Div.1, Ballyboden won Div. 2, Leixlip won Div.3 and Mullingar Shamrocks Div.4 which gives an idea of the overall quality of play in the group.

Well done to all concerned and thanks to Ballyboden-St Enda’s for the hospitality and invitation to take part in the tournament.
