The members and executive of Mullingar Shamrocks extends sincerest condolences to the family of the late Paddy Ryland, Newlands, Mullingar and especially to his wife and best friend Patsy, his children Janette, Paul and Enda, cherished grandchildren Gabbie, Conor, Katie, Keira, Danny, Sammy and Joey, great grandson Beau, son-in-law Cammy, daughter-in-law Deni, sister Anne, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, former An Post colleagues and his many friends.
Paddy reposes at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home (N91 K660) today (Friday) from 4 pm to 6 pm with Removal to the Cathedral of Christ the King arriving at 6.30 pm. Paddy’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 1.00 pm followed by burial in Ballyglass Cemetery.
Paddy Rylands’ wife Patsy is synonymous with Scor in Mullingar Shamrocks, her dedication to this cause over many decades has made her a true club legend and Paddy’s quiet support behind the scenes was a significant factor in Patsy’s passion. Their daughter Jeanette is another Shamrocks’ Scor doyenne and has figured on countless dancing groups over the years. Their sons Paul and Enda represented the club at underage level. Paddy himself was a renowned soccer referee in the 1970s and 80s giving great service alongside the likes of Ollie Holmes in matches across the midlands. Paddy was a firm but fair knight of the whistle.
