The late Bernadette Whelehan
Mullingar Shamrocks members and executive extend sincerest sympathy to the family of the late Bernadette Whelehan, The Downs, Mullingar and especially to her daughters  Mary (Farrell), Agnes (O’Driscoll) and Nora (Morris);  her grandchildren Damien, Emma, Ciara, Enda, Lorna and Jamie; her  great-grandchildren May, Rosa, Lucy and T.J., sons-in-law Aidan, Declan, Vinny and Jimmy, brother Francis, and members of her extended family and friends.
Bernadette reposes at Newbrook Nursing Home Chapel on tomorrow (Monday) from 4.00 pm concluding with prayers at 6.30 pm. Removal to St Agnes Church, Coralstown (N91 FN28) arriving at 7.30 pm. Bernadette’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11.00 am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Bernadette and her late husband Christy formed one of the great GAA families of Westmeath and although Christy and Bernadette were steeped in the traditions and community of The Downs, Christy’s advice on the legal technicalities of the GAA Rule Book was willingly given to clubs far and near when sought.
For a beautiful tribute to Bernadette check out The Downs GAA Club Facebook page.
Bernadette’s granddaughters Emma, Ciara, Lorna and grandsons Enda and Damien have represented Mullingar Shamrocks  with distinction with their mam Nora and dad Vinny doing more than their bit to help along the way.
