Quite the week for Darragh, Johnny and Kian ..
It has been an extraordinary week for three of Mullingar Shamrocks remarkably talented young members. It all began last Saturday in Summerhill (Meath) when Darragh McCabe representing the club and Scór Iarmhí won the the Scór Laighean Leinster GAA Scór na nÓg title in Solo Singing.
Young Johnny Joyce grabbed a lot of the headlines later in the week and rounded off his week with a great performance on the RTÉ The Late Late Show Toy Show.
Just down the road from the RTÉ studios, in the Samuel Beckett Theatre in Trinity College Kian Newcombe, a member of our Under-14 squad, was one of the lead dancers in the Irish National Youth Ballet's production of The Nutcracker. The sold-out production continues tonight and concludes tomorrow with two more productions. We wish Kian the best for the reminder of the shows.
We congratulate the boys and their families and mentors on their successes. It doesn't happen by accident.
