Under-14 Ladies Gaelic Football Championship: Mullingar Shamrocks 7-7 Kilbeggan-St Joseph’s 3-12.

Mullingar Shamrocks Under-14 girls were on the road again on Tuesday night and made their way to Streamstown to play Kilbeggan-St Josephs in the under-14 Ladies Gaelic Football championship. The game, from start to finish, was played with great intensity with both teams fully committed to contesting every ball. The sides were level at the interval. The fast pace continued into the second half and a feature of the match was the excellent defending by the Shamrocks backs who broke down numerous Kilbeggan attacks. Chloe Flood McCormack in goals pulled off some great saves which proved vital, The forwards got some great scores to edge Shamrocks into the lead and eventually put the match, which was a feast of great scores and good football, out of the Kilbeggan-St Joseph’s reach. It was a great team performance by the Mullingar Shamrocks girls and reflected the efforts they have put into training since early in the year.
