Under-14 Ladies Gaelic Football Championship: Mullingar Shamrocks lose to Moate All-Whites.

Mullingar Shamrocks under-14 girls began their championship campaign against Moate All-Whites on Wednesday evening in Moate where the home side emerged with a comprehensive victory. The Moate girls are a very strong side who only suffered a single defeat this season to Killucan in the Féile final who are also the only other team to have beaten the Shamrocks girls.  Moate had a very strong opening twenty minutes and left the girls with a huge task in the second-half. Displaying great heart, they came out and picked up the play and enjoyed a good spell without being able to repair the damage done in opening half. This was a game of goals and the pick of them from the Shamrocks perspective was shared between Molly Byrne and Robin Wrafter. It was a tough day at the office for all the backs but they stood strong and battled until the final whistle. Difficult time of year for all with holidays and other activities so

2wks time now till next game at home to Killucan.

Mullingar Shamrocks: Chloe Mc Cormack, Áine McKenna, Nelly Nwokeiwu, Elyse Byrne (Tamara Molloy), Jasmine Haugh, Niamh Raeside, Judith Uyi (Leah Glynn), Mairead Newman, Jenny Kelly, Robin Wrafter (1-0), Sadbh O'Brien (1-1), Abby Smith (0-3),Molly Byrne (1-0), Mia Gilligan (1-0),Sinead Battle.
