SuperValu Behind the Ball Initiative …

SuperValu have commenced a nine-week programme which will see individual stores donate 55,000 GAA ‘First Touch’ footballs to clubs across the country, an initiative designed to get children playing football and exercising more regularly.

Buckley’s SuperValu are taking part in the scheme and Mullingar Shamrocks has been chosen to participate.

Through the initiative, SuperValu customers will receive a ‘#BehindTheBall’ token for every €20 they spend. Mullingar Shamrocks members and supporters are asked to ensure they get a token for each €20 spend and deposit their tokens in the Mullingar Shamrocks slot in the in-store collecting box.

The first of the four clubs in the Mullingar catchment area to reach 500 tokens will receive 150 free footballs.

So, Shamrocks shoppers get the tokens and deposit them in the collection box …
