J J Rhatigan Building Contractor’s Cycle for Stephen
On the May Bank Holiday weekend, Stephen Corroon’s life changed dramatically when he suffered a fall from his bicycle that resulted in a catastrophic cervical spinal injury. Since then, Stephen has been under the care of the National Spinal Injuries Unit in the Mater Hospital, Tullamore Regional Hospital and is currently awaiting transfer to the National Rehabilitation Centre in Dún Laoghaire.
While he has made progress, the road ahead remains uncertain for Stephen, Aoibhinn, Hazel and Billy.
To help support Stephen and his family during this challenging time, the firm of J J Rhatigan Building Contractors, Stephen’s employers, are organising a 9-hour stationary cycle on Friday 6 September across selected J J Rhatigan sites and offices to fundraise for the significant home adaptations, specialist equipment, and ongoing medical treatment that Stephen needs.
One of the stationary cycling stations is located at St Finian’s College and a number of Mullingar Shamrocks members have volunteered to take part and support Stephen. If you wish to participate, please contact Denis Corroon or Shane Ormsby who will arrange your time slot (each station has two cycles and time slots are open from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm).
