Under-14 Ladies Football: Impressive win against Delvin-St Pauls
Mullingar Shamrocks Under-14 Girls produced another fine performance against a tough Delvin-St Pauls combination and secured two more league points. Wind-assisted Shamrocks started strongly and with wave after wave of attacks from all the forwards racked up a impressive 5-5 to 0-2 interval lead. Shamrocks continued to press forward at every opportunity on the resumption. The defence was solid with Nelly Nwokeiwu and Annemarie O’Reilly unbeatable and as a result captain for the night Chloe Flood McCormack in goal had a relaxed night. Midfield duo Máiread Newman and Jenny Kelly worked very hard throughout but the decision makers selected Abby Smith who scored 3-3 as the Subway Player of the Match.
The girls conclude their league campaign on Thursday evening (8 June) when they play Clan na Gael in Multyfarnham.
