Under-14
A tough week in the office for our under-14 squads. Both teams are dominated by players who are thirteen years of age and find the going tough against players who are a year older. Our under-14 boys travelled to Caulry on Thursday night and played very well but were well beaten by the home side. Mullingar Shamrocks score of 4-13 would often be sufficient to win two matches but on this occasion Caulry scored 11-13 in what was a feast of attacking football. Shamrocks score getters were: Mark Shaw 1-3, Thomas Turka 1-1, Conor Fagan 0-4, Jamie Rooney 1-1, Darren Hughes 1-0, Mark Clinton 0-2, Cormac Creighton 0-1, Cormac Grimes, 0-1. Our under-14 girls travelled to Killucan on Tuesday evening and lost their unbeaten record when they were heavily defeated by the 2017 Féile Champions.
Under-8 Blitz
Our under-8 players travelled to Kinnegad on Friday night and with Coralstown-Kinnegad, and St Mary’s, Rochfortbridge took part in their second blitz of the season. We had thirty-two players togged out which was great to see, it was also heartening to see the number of parents who made the journey to Kinnegad to lend their support.
