ACL Div.1 Athlone 2-13 Mullingar Shamrocks 1-4
The contribution of Sean Dempsey to both clubs was recognised with a minute silence before the throw-in.
Shamrocks, without several probable championship starters, were first to make an impression and two early points by Patrick Fagan and Dylan McDermott and a brilliant Philly Shaw save secured a 0-2 to 0-0 lead after 15 minutes. Athlone made no impression on the scoreboard until the eighteen minute but then scored 1-2 in the space of two minutes, the points coming from John Connellan and Noel Mulligan frees. The goal came after a long cross field pass failed to reach its intended destination and Daniel Reid took full advantage to score the opening goal. Athlone added four more points before Patrick Fagan responded with a Shamrocks point just before the interval (1-6 to 0-3). Niall Hannigan pointed immediately on resumption but then John Connellan took control and was quarter-back like in his control for the remainder of the game. He scored 0-5 before putting Mickey Greene through for the home side’s second goal. Daragh Daly scored Shamrocks goal midway through the half on an evening in which Philly Shaw, Ryan Blundell, Eddie Moore, Davy Coyne, Efe Siode, Patrick Fagan and Alan Cashman showed best for Shamrocks and David Gavin and Killian Daly were added to the list of the walking wounded.

ACL Div. 3: Mullingar Shamrocks 4-13 Killucan 1-13.
There was never any doubt about the destination of the points in this ACL Div.3 match in Springfield and although many were playing their second game in 24-hours the players gave of their best to the final whistle. The final action of the day belonged to Shamrocks with Paddy Joyce earning and then scoring a penalty sending David Bryan in the wrong direction as he rolled the ball to the corner of the net. The most notable feat from a Shamrocks perspective was the scoring performance of Gary Corroon. The ageless wonder of the Shamrocks set-up lined out at centre-field and kicked 0-8 in a fine display of dead-ball kicking. Darren Keena’s 0-4 is also worthy of note.
Mullingar Shamrocks: Killian White; Daragh White, Davy Coyne, Daragh White; Eamonn Breslin, Aaron Purcell, Niall Hannigan; Pearse Corroon and Gary Corroon (0-8); Michael McKnight, Paddy Joyce (1-1), Matthew Kelly (Cian Roe); Darren Keena (0-4), Alan Cashman, Ryan Blundell.
