Under-16 Girls Football: Mullingar Shamrocks 0-9 St Loman’s 1-4.

Our Under-16 Ladies began their season in impressive fashion with a good victory over St Loman’s last-night (Tuesday) in wet conditions at Lakepoint Park. Wind-assisted Shamrocks held an interval lead; St Loman’s attacked from the start of the second half and Shamrocks ladies had to dig deep to maintain their lead. All the players worked very hard and at the final whistle, Shamrocks were still in the lead by two very important points as the scoreboard read Shamrocks 0-9 St Lomans 1-4.

These were the girls who togged-out on what was a very bad night for football: Isobel Clinton, Eadaoin Corroon, Ellen Corroon, Fatyia Abdulkarim, Roisin McKnight, Carla Gibney (0-1), Eadaoin Byrne, Susanna Buckley (0-1) Alison Bane (0-1), Nicola Groenwald (0-1), Laura Culkin (0-2), Sarah Geoghegan (0-2), Zara Gilligan, Katie Rock, Holly McCormack (0-1), Catherine Tubridy, Ruth Keane and Mia Shanley.
