Last Man Standing
Despite the surprise results at the weekend 54 men and women retain an interest in our Last Man Standing competition: Westmeath are next week’s banker team and 9 people are convinced that Waterford will be offer no challenge to the might and power of the Lake County men; Kerry are next in line with 8 people believing that Roscommon will roll over. Form so far suggests this will be the case but Kerry haven’t set the league alight either. Armagh (7) are the next most popular choice and should prove to be too strong for Offaly in Armagh. Six people believe that Cork will be too good for Clare in Ennis while 3 people fancy Wexford (surely the biggest banker v Wicklow) and Kildare v Fermanagh (---good to see Ritchie O’Donoghue retaining his faith in his native county), 2 fancy Donegal (v Cavan) and Tyrone (v Monaghan) while Derry, Galway, Limerick, Fermanagh and Carlow have got a single vote each. Olive Collins is the only one to pick her native Carlow to beat Leitrim and judging by Leitrim’s display on Sunday her €10 investment is safe and secure for another week.
