Under 15 Division 1: Coralstown Kinnegad 4-10 Mullingar Shamrocks 0-9.
Our under 15 squad completed the league section of their Div 1 championship campaign on Tuesday evening with a trip to Kinnegad to face the home side. Shamrocks were competitive for the opening 25 minutes but two quick fire goals just before Sean Carroll’s short whistle proved significant and the physically stronger team in red and white deservedly took the spoils. Our “reward” is a return trip to Kinnegad next week in a quarter final and hopefully we will be competitive for longer.
Division 1 in this grade is extremely competitive and our young side has gained immeasurably from the experience at the higher level. Two victories and four defeats represents a reasonably respectable showing having gained promotion from Division 2 and next week’s challenge is formidable. Training continues on Friday for this group.
The squad on duty in Kinnegad was: Oisin Gavin, Padraig Regan, Harry Tilson, Ryan McNamee, Ruairi Kelly, Ruairi Kilmartin, Rory McCaul, Isaac Haughey, Dylan Byrne, Luke Kelly, Aaron Conroy, Gareth Sweeney, Conor Walsh, Charlie Murtagh, Zac Masterson, Zac Coyne, James Ryan, Sean Hickey, Paddy Colleary, Liam Heffernan, Darragh Ryan, Nathan O’ Reilly and Rian Sheerin.
