LGF Minor Championship: St. Mary's Rochfortbridge 2-16 Mullingar Shamrocks 4-3

On Sunday morning our minor LGF, resplendent in the club's alternative blue jersey, were defeated by a determined home side.

Despite a good performance, from 1 to 15, the girls came up short in an entertaining game which for a long period of time the game was a lot closer than the final score line suggested. Goals from Laura Culkin Susanna Buckley and Máiread Newman had the team only a point down at half time. Into the second half and St. Mary's increased their lead with well taken points. Possibly the highlight of the day for Shamrocks was a second half goal from Holly McCormack, effortlessly placed into the top corner from around 20 yards out with the outside of the right foot.

Depsite defeat the girls have qualified for a semi final next Sunday.
