Under-11 Rob Cornally Memorial Tournament ...

The Mullingar Shamrocks annual Rob Cornally Memorial Tournament took place on Sunday, with Mullingar Shamrocks, Fingallians (Dublin), St. Sylvester's (Dublin), Killucan, St. Loman's, The Downs, Uarán Mór Mearaí (Oranmore-Maree - Galway) and Lilliput Gaels participating. This time Uarán Mór Mearaí took home the Rob Cornally Perpetual Trophy with our club president Detty Cornally on hand to present the trophy that honours her late husband's memory, a great GAA man who served Mullingar Shamrocks and Westmeath in so many different ways. Thanks to all those who helped out in the multitude of tasks necessary to ensure the smooth operation of such a tournament: the great ringmaster Pat Collins for his organisational flair, the referees, the runners, the scoreboard operators, those who ensured that Shamrocks reputation for hospitality was maintained, the ground staff (especially Tom Earley who stepped out of retirement for the occasion), the mentors and coaches of the several teams and the parents and family members who came to Springfield to offer their support to the football stars of the future.

Kevin Kelly, Colum Clinton, Paddy Colleary, Liam Heffernan, Seán Hickey, Ted Aherne, Ruairí Kilmartin, Harry Maguire, Conor McDonnell, Zac Coyne, Isaac Haughey, Darragh Daly, Aodhán Sanderson, Jonah Hassett, Shane Bonner, Declan Newman and Aaron Rooney represented Mullingar Shamrocks with distinction.
