Tye is European Champion ...

Last weekend was the greatest yet in the short history of the Berlin GAA Club as the young club won the European Senior County Final for the first time. And playing a key role in the victory was our own Tye Adamson. As a fulltime student in a country under the jurisdiction of the European Board, Tye is entitled to play with a club in the European Union country of study and with his own club Mullingar Shamrocks [Rule 6.8, D (3)]. The final stages of the championship were played at Maastricht. The title was won with a 1-15 to 1-12 victory over a brilliant, brave and gracious Belgium GAA side with Tye scoring 0-7 from play. And on the way back to Berlin the lads had time to eat crisps at Cologne Airport and watch Shane Lowry winning the Open Golf Championship Portrush. On the previous day, Berlin GAA overcame a great challenge from a very experienced Luxembourg GAA side to win the semi-final 2-15 to 2-11; on this occasion Tye contributed 1-6 to the team total, again all from play. Tye is something of an international star as last summer he displayed his talents in the fields of Philadelphia, USA. His return to the Mullingar Shamrocks colours is eagerly awaited. Next up for Berlin GAA is the AIB GAA Leinster GAA Junior Club Championship First Round against the Longford GAA champions on October 26 in Abbotstown, Dublin. Tye follows in the footsteps of David Gavin who also won a senior European medal in 2018 representing Amsterdam GAC.
