Leinster Club Championship ...

The old journey continues and a new one begins today as Mullingar Shamrocks enter the Leinster Club Championship, the Champions League equivalent for senior county champions, except this is a knock-out competition with no second or third chances.

The throw-in is at 1.30 (NOTE!), the venue is Cusack Park and David Gough, one of the country's top referees is in charge of the whistle. Once again we occupy the familiar total outsiders territory as we face Moorfield, the reigning Leinster champions from Kildare.

It's has been a wonderful year for the club and the players and management deserve our total support this afternoon. We wish them the best of luck as Mullingar Shamrocks move on to represent Westmeath on the bigger stage. Be there early and wear the colours with pride ...
