Leinster Scór Champions
Pride of place for the club this week was earned by our figure dancers who won the Leinster title at Ballymore on Sunday. The Shamrocks Figure Dancing troupe are Scór specialists in this branch of the dancing art and deservedly retained their Leinster title dancing The Trip to the Cottage. Kim Darby, Mary Jo Geraghty, Geraldine Cornally, Síle Marie Martin, Aileen Martin, Maura Buckley, Sarah Murphy and Katie Murphy were the dancers. Mary Cornally and Patsy Rylands were in charge of the coaching and choreography. The dancers have now qualified for the All-Ireland finals which are scheduled for Killarney on 2 April.
Katie McCarthy was one of three excellent performers in the Solo Singing Competition and on this occasion the verdict of the judges went against Katie who delivered a fine rendition of Bríd Óg ní Mhaille. The club appreciates the efforts made by Katie to represent Shamrocks this year. And continuing in the Scór vein well done to our many times Scór champion Michaela Hogg who has progressed to the live stages of The Voice where she will be mentored by Úna Foden.
