Trâth na gCeist Title Retained …

What’s seldom is wonderful and our Trâth na gCeist team defended its Westmeathgaaofficial Scór Iarmhí title on Sunday evening in The Downs GAA Club and kept the club's tradition in the GAA's cultural competition alive.

The Mullingar Shamrocks team of Tom Hunt, Davy Gavin, Ritchie and Conor McKenna just pipped the St Josephs Gaa team by two points (75-73) and finished four ahead of the team from Na Dúnta (75-71) who were on fire on the night and rapidly closed the gap that carried forward from the Table Quiz section staged in Streamstown on Friday night.

The win completed a nice double for the Gavin family with the two Davys wining county medals over the space of 30 hours or so.

The Trâth na gCeist team will now compete in the Table Quiz section of the Leinster final in Carnew on 22 October.
