Junior Football Championship: Mullingar Shamrocks 0-12 Ballycomoyle 2-8

Another disappointing result from this junior championship occasion played in Clonmellon on Sunday morning as Mullingar Shamrocks went under by a two-point margin to Ballycomoyle. Shamrocks inspired by a fine display from Ross Corroon played very well but unfortunately when the final whistle was blown the scoreboard had Ballycomoyle two points to the good and we now face a relegation semi-final next Sunday evening against Delvin. Mullingar Shamrocks held an interval lead of 0-9 to 0-3 and were still leading by 0-3 at the second water break. Unfortunately a black card to Ryan Blundell at this stage was crucial and Ballycomoyle made a comeback to secure the valuable championship points.
