Under-11 Boys at The Downs

Mullingar Shamrocks’ Under-11 squad travelled to The Downs on Saturday morning to play the home team in two matches. Our thanks to Steven Cleary and Martin Murtagh for facilitating us at short notice and thanks to Óisin Murphy and Luke Loughlin who were excellent referees. Shamrocks had 33 players on duty on the superb playing surface of the main pitch in The Downs. Greg Gavin’s coaching drills are certainly paying off as the Shamrocks’ players produced excellent performances throughout displaying no little skill, commitment and team work. The home team took the spoils after very closely contested matches with influential performers in Aaron Connaire, Finn Brennan, Fionn Kelly, Dylan Ledwith and Conor Cleary but every player in green tried his utmost and delighted the coaches with their efforts. Well done lads. There were many parents and indeed grandparents in attendance and overall everyone enjoyed a great morning’s entertainment with even the weather favourable for a change. The following players were on duty for Shamrocks : Zac Masterson, Colm Clinton, Paddy Colleary, John Gilbride, Luke Kelly, Harry Tilson, Jamie Timoney, Killian Hand, Cian Traynor, Conor Walsh, Theo Kelly, Alfie Rock, Darragh Daly, Darragh Ryan, Shane Bonar, Jack Conlon, Oliver Keane, Nathan O’ Reilly, MJ Burke, Fionn Ledwith, Manus Kelly, Jamie Murtagh, Evan Nohilly, Liam Forde, Eoin Mulhern, Elliott Harte, Noah Smyth, Sam Briody, Sam Phillips, Conor Matthews, Jonah Hassett, Ben Murphy and Charlie Murtagh. Training continues on Monday evening at 7.30 and we travel to Castletown next Saturday to play St. Malachy’s.
